A couple months ago, we posted about the 7 C’s of resilience that were identified by Dr. Ginsburg from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Today, we will look at the 2nd “C” of resilience:

  1. Competence
  2. Confidence
  3. Connection
  4. Character
  5. Contribution
  6. Coping
  7. Control

Confidence is important to us as it helps us feel capable to move forward with opportunities. Without confidence, we may feel less likely to try new things or reaching our full potential. We can help build confidence in our children by praising them when they have accomplished a challenging task and just by letting them know what their best qualities are such as their kindness of others or their thoughtfulness of helping you or a friend in need.
